Entering Chaozhou, Entering the World of Hand-pulled Teapots

2022-05-20

Chaozhou is a famous porcelain capital in China. When it comes to craftsmanship, people praise Xie Hua, the fifth-generation inheritor of Chaozhou hand-pulled pots. He is a national arts and crafts master, a Guangdong provincial intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Chaozhou hand-pulled red clay pots, a senior arts and crafts master, a researcher at the Guangdong Arts and Crafts Research Institute, a standing director of the China Arts and Crafts Association, and a ceramic art elite favored by Chinese collectors.

His works are fresh, grand, simple, smooth, and elegant, with a unique artistic realm. He has won two national special gold awards and more than 20 national gold awards. His works have been collected by the China Arts and Crafts Museum, the China Yixing Pottery Museum, the National Museum of China, and the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

On May 17, 2022, Mr. Chen Shunqiang, the leader of Wangshui and Tao Handicrafts Co., Ltd., met with the pot art master Xie Hua in Chaozhou and experienced the exquisite craftsmanship of Chaozhou. He also presented Master Xie with the company's high-end products, Haiyanqi tea sets, made from Haiyan ore (referred to as Haiyan crystal sand). After listening to the introduction from our company's leaders, Master Xie was very surprised by Haiyanqi. He noted that Haiyanqi's multi-functional adjustment of water, wine, tea, and other foods helps the human body to be healthier. Master Xie also gave a very good evaluation of the exquisite tea sets made from Haiyan ore. He gave a very good comment on our company's product development and market. Our company hopes that future products can be developed in cooperation with Master Xie.

On the same day, Master Xie's relatives led the company's leaders to visit Xie Hua's workplace, Mingde Garden. Completed in 2016, it is located on Taiyuan Road in the old city of Chaozhou, covering an area of more than 2000 square meters and a building area of approximately 2500 square meters. It is a three-and-a-half-story modern building with elements of Chaozhou's ancient dwellings, incorporating elements such as stone gate towers, courtyards, white walls, and grey tiles, while also employing modern architectural functions. It is simple, unadorned, transparent, exquisite, and environmentally friendly. The garden has towering ancient trees, lush flowers and plants, winding corridors, and cleverly incorporated mountains and water, fully reflecting the owner's pursuit of harmony between man and nature. It also houses Master Xie Hua's private collection room, filled with a breathtaking array of hand-pulled pots.

This trip to Chaozhou and witnessing Master Xie Hua's hand-pulled pots has been very beneficial. It will help our company reach even greater heights.
